Melinoë, Bringer of Madness (2017)
The Greek myth of Melinoë, the goddess of ghosts, bringer of nightmares and madness, is understood through a binary of black and white, coupled with her relationship to the paranormal. This performance’s content was structured using known information about Melinoë from the Orphic Hymn 70 (believed to have been written in the 2nd or 3rd century AD) which suggests she was born at the mouth of the Cocytus River in the underworld. It is believed that she wanders the Earth at night with her trail of ghosts.
