Katie L. O’Neill (b. 1995, New Jersey) is a Mad choreographer, educator, writer, and disability rights activist based in Chicago. O’Neill was diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder and Schizoaffective Disorder in 2016-17 and shortly became involved in disability arts & activism. Interested in blurring the lines between traditional academia and performance art, O’Neill has presented workshops + performances internationally at The Hemispheric Institute of Toronto, Pennsylvania Art Education Association, Fountain House Gallery of New York, the University of Chicago, Hyde Park Art Center, and Port Philip Specialist School of Melbourne, Australia. She received her BFA at Moore College of Art & Design (2017) and her MFA in Performance at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (2019). O’Neill will begin her doctorate in Disability Studies at the University of Illinois at Chicago this fall.
